For Your Safety

At Georgia Dental Medicine, Dr. Chris Anderson and Team are dedicated to protecting the safety and well-being of our dental family of patients and team members.

Since opening Georgia Dental Medicine in 2003, Dr. Anderson and Team have implemented infection control protocols that continue to meet or exceed the current standards established by professional and government organizations, including the American Dental Association® (ADA), Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the Georgia Department of Public Health (GDPH).

We practice ‘universal precaution’ infection control measures to prevent the transmission of disease in the dental setting. A few of our standard procedures include:

  • Autoclave (steam heat under pressure) sterilization of dental instruments or use of disposable tools.

  • Disposable covers for contact surfaces and equipment in treatment rooms; these are replaced after each patient.

  • Full cleaning and disinfection of surfaces and equipment in the dental treatment area between patients.

  • Required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is worn by clinical team members during patient care, including masks, gloves and outerwear.

  • Proper hand hygiene practices between patients and before/after wearing gloves.

  • Sterisil® Straw unit water supply bacteria treatment for safe, clean water during dental procedures.

  • Ongoing biological testing and monitoring of sterilization systems to ensure proper equipment operation and effectiveness.

  • Disinfection and cleaning of common areas (restrooms, reception area, offices, etc.) throughout the day with hand sanitizer and face masks available for patient use.

Our Georgia Dental Medicine Team continually attends training on infection control and safety practices to stay current on the latest information about technology, equipment and procedures to maintain the highest possible levels of safety, cleanliness and disinfection in our Marietta dental office.

Reducing the Spread of COVID-19 in Our Community

COVID-19 has changed how we interact in our daily lives and in our community. In addition to our strict adherence to infection control, we are following the CDC, GDPH and ADA recommended COVID-19 precautions for healthcare settings and the workplace environment.

If you are ill and have an upcoming appointment with Georgia Dental Medicine, please Contact Us to reschedule your appointment as soon as symptoms occur. We will be glad to assist you and will look forward to seeing you when you are feeling better.

Air Purification Technology at Georgia Dental Medicine

Dr. Chris Anderson is committed to making the investment in technology that supports our ability to provide the best possible care for our patients. With the onset of COVID-19 and concerns about airborne transmission, we have taken additional steps to improve the air quality at our Marietta dental office, including:

On 07/17/2020, Georgia Dental Medicine installed 6 Airo-ProHO Air Sanitation Units made by kesair.com, a Kennesaw, Georgia company. These units are an advanced airborne pathogen reduction and air purification system that purify/circulate 220 cubic feet of air per minute. Thus, the air in each treatment room is fully circulated three or more times per hour.

Air-ProHO units use the patented AiroCide® Air Sanitation technology originally developed by NASA® to kill airborne mold, bacteria, viruses and allergens through a process called photocatalytic oxidation. This process also breaks down volatile organic compounds (VOC) like ethylene gas, formaldehyde and many odors into micro amounts of harmless carbon dioxide and water vapor. AiroCide® Air Sanitation technology is a listed FDA Class II Medical Device, so it is completely user and environmentally safe with no emissions.

We have also installed Global Plasma Solutions ionization filtering units on both of our HVAC systems to help reduce air particles, including some viruses and bacteria.

We are dedicated to Keeping You & Your Family Safe at the Dental Office

“In Great Hands…

Have to say that going to the Dentist during COVID pandemic was not high on my to-do list. But I knew I could trust the staff at Dr. Anderson's practice to get it right and they did not let me down. First of all, the office is immaculate - felt like I was walking into a very safe and sterile environment. Also everyone was wearing a mask (so important to me). My hygienist was so thorough with my cleaning - she really cares about getting my teeth to their best place. I am so happy I kept my appointment!”
